Financing research trips of research and teaching employees

Purpose of the call

The aim of the call is to finance trips of research and teaching employees to conferences, workshops, inquiries, study visits, etc. aimed at increasing the employee's scientific excellence, in accordance with principle 4I of the Excellence Initiative (internationalization, interdisciplinarity, innovation and integrity)

Assessment criteria

The most important criterion for assessing applications in this call is the relationship between the planned trip and the above purpose of the competition. Applicants are asked to precisely justify the connection between the trip and the above purpose and to demonstrate how participation in the planned trip will contribute to achieving specific scientific results, such as publication or preparation or implementation of a research project. The applicant is obliged to submit a manuscript or research project within nine months from the end of the stay. The document confirming the submission should be part of the final report.

The second most important criterion for assessing applications is the scientific rank of the planned conference or host center that the applicant plans to visit. Applicants are asked to describe this aspect of the application carefully.

The third criterion for assessing applications is the cost of the trip. When assessing the application, the Commission takes into account the eligibility of the costs of the planned trip. Applicants are asked to accurately calculate and provide reliable justification for these costs.

Priority in financing will be given to applications for activities that do not have financing from other sources. Applicants are asked to address this issue in their application.

Important: From April 15, 2024, the principle of simultaneous realization of a maximum of two activities under the "Financing research trips of research and teaching employees" fund applies. It means that one applicant cannot submit another application if he or she has not settled at least one of the two activities carried out.
