Financing the visits of external guests

Purpose of the call

The aim of the call is to finance scientific cooperation, which is expected to result in the submission of: 1) a grant application for an international research or research and development project, 2) a manuscript for a publication in a recognized scientific journal or a manuscript of a multi-author monograph to a reputable scientific publishing house.

As part of this competition, this goal is to be achieved through visits of external guests to the Jagiellonian University – researchers who cooperate with the applicant on the preparation of grant applications and/or publication.

Assessment criteria

The most important criterion for assessing applications in this call is the relationship between the planned visit of the guest and the above purpose of the call. Applicants are asked to precisely justify the connection between the visit and the above purpose and to demonstrate how the planned visit will contribute to achieving specific scientific results, such as publication or preparation or implementation of a research project. The applicant is required to submit a manuscript or research project within nine months of the completion of the visit. The document confirming the submission should be part of the final report.

The second most important criterion for assessing applications is the prospect of real scientific cooperation. Applications that well justify current or planned cooperation with the invited guest will be highly appreciated.

The third criterion for assessing applications is the cost of the visit. When assessing the application, the Commission takes into account the eligibility of the costs of the planned visit. Applicants are asked to accurately calculate and provide reliable justification for these costs. Applicants are obliged to take into account the relevant regulations in force at the Jagiellonian University regarding the reception of guests.

Important! Priority in financing will be given to applications for activities that do not have financing from other sources. Applicants are asked to address this issue in their application.
